What is the best way to go about writing up a business plan for an investment idea?
I'm not looking to open a business, but I'm looking to put on an event in my city that I'll need a little bit of investment money for. I need to know the best way of writing up a good business plan for potential investors.

- Go to http://www.sba.gov , http://www.score.org or http://www.bplan.com for instructions on how to write a business plan and sample business plans.
- Your money will most likely will come from private investors, does not sound like a concept a traditional bank would invest in. Write the plan, brief outling the who, what, where, when and how of the business, keeping in mind the investor will want a return on their money. Do a cashflow projection to show how the money will be spent and when the cash will come in. 5-6 pages for the entire plan will work for a private investor.
- I wondered the same thing when I wanted to write a business plan and I had a hard time finding an example. If you will send me your email address to alluetta@sbcglobal.net. I will send you my business plan. From there you can at least have an outline and then edit in your information. Good Luck, Janet
- What you can do is check my profile. Make the best profile of yourself on this website and see if any investors bid, and better yet, see what kinds of questions they ask. That can give you a strong idea of what they want to know. You would have to look into it further, but, the minimum amount to borrow is $1000, in which I think you can turn around and pay back right away, if you do get fully funded. It looks like a fun way to learn about what investors tend to find important in borrowers to chose them over others.
