Stocks go up and down at same time ....?

I have a graph of 5 stocks in my stock portfolio and the DJIA. The line graph shows that the 5 stocks and the DJIA go up and down at the same time... why is this?

1. Good economic news will make most stocks go up, bad news will make most go down. If you look at a wider variety of stocks, you're more likely to see some difference in their behavior. Also, do those 5 stocks happen to be components of the Dow? That would make the link even stronger if they are.
