What is economic recession, and how does it affect Share of business Investment out of all total investment?
I read that during recession, the share of business fixed investment decreases. I did not get the concept in the first place that during recession investment decreases. And the share of business investment decreases too?

- Everything decreases as prices are going down. Would you buy a house when real-estate prices are going down? If a business wants to invest during a recession it's options are investing in a down turned market or keeping it's money in a bank. They keep it in the bank mostly. When there is sight of an upturn it is then time to buy that house.
- A significant decline in activity spread across the economy, lasting longer than a few months. It is visible in industrial production, employment, real income and wholesale-retail trade. The technical indicator of a recession is two consecutive quarters of negative economic growth as measured by a country's gross domestic product (GDP). Recession is a normal (albeit unpleasant) part of the business cycle. A recession generally lasts from six to 18 months. Interest rates usually fall in recessionary times to stimulate the economy by offering cheap rates at which to borrow money.
